Environmental Declaration
Zarlink Semiconductor prescribes to its manufacturing subcontractors the processes that they must use. Accordingly Zarlink can confirm to its customers that the integrated circuits which it supplies ("Zarlink IC's"), comply with the following material content levels:
| Element / Compound | Limit | Comments |
| Pb | 1000ppm |
only applicable if stated to be Pb-free |
| Hg | 1000ppm | trace impurity only |
| Cd | 1000ppm | trace impurity only |
| Cr+6 | 1000ppm | trace impurity only |
| Polybrominated biphenyl (PBB's) | 1000ppm | no intentional use |
| Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE's) | 1000ppm | no intentional use |
The limits set out above are those required to comply with the European Union Directive for Restriction of Hazardous Materials. In many instances the actual concentrations in Zarlink IC's are significantly below these limits.
Zarlink Semiconductor further confirms that Zarlink IC's do not contain the following prohibited substances:
Asbestos
Azo compounds, dyes and pigments forming amines
Chlorinated paraffins.
Formaldehyde
Mirex
Organic tin compounds
Ozone depleting substances
Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB's)
Polychlorinated naphthalenes (PCN's)
Polychlorinated terphenyles (PCT's)
Radioactive substances
