Medical Communications

For over 30 years, customers have relied on Zarlink's ultra-low power design skills, medical-grade quality processes, and system and regulatory knowledge for healthcare products, including pacemaker and hearing aids.

Today, Zarlink's ultra low-power and wireless expertise is enabling new medical devices that are employing wireless technology to help improve patient care and lower healthcare costs.

The world's first swallowable camera capsule relies on Zarlink's wireless transmitter to relay real-time images from inside the human body. Our MICS (Medical Implant Communication Service) system-on-a-chip is being designed into implanted medical devices, including pacemakers, defibrillators, neurostimulators, drug pumps and physiological monitors, to enable new wireless monitoring, diagnostic and therapeutic applications.
